The Ghana Medical Association is calling on the President and his government to revise their decision to adopt the World Health Organisation’s new guidelines on Coronavirus recoveries.

Per the new guidelines by the WHO any infected person who does not show symptons of Coronavirus after the mandatory 14 days is discharged and classified as a coronavirus recovery.

However, General Secretary of the Ghana Medical Association Dr. Justice Yankson speaking on Joy TV monitored by vimnewsgh said though the new guidelines were announced the WHO advised countries to continue with the old guideline of double negatives per test before anyone is declared as recovered.

He is therefore asking government not to discard the old guidelines as the new guidelines are dangerous and encourage complacency.
